GROWING YOUR TEAM THROUGH REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP
Join the Harold Alfond Center on May 15th for CULTIVATING FUTURE LEADERS: Growing your team through registered apprenticeship.
Training new hires is an inevitable part of running an organization. So why not train employees in the tools of your trade right from the start?
We’ll be joined by Dana Connors, past president of the Maine State Chamber, Kristine McCallister, program manager – apprenticeship for Maine Department of Labor, Melinda Hull, Ed.D, director, workforce development grant programs, MaineHealth, and Christopher Winstead, deputy executive director of workforce development, to learn about how companies to leverage apprenticeships to train and grow their talent from within, and, with resources.
Did you know that the registered apprenticeship model can be applied to any industry? It creates lasting benefits for both your workforce and your company. Learn how to effectively implement these programs to optimize training outcomes and hear MaineHealth, which has streamlined the apprenticeship model to enhance its employees' growth and improve retention.
Every month, the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce hosts a webinar to equip local businesses and organizations with the tools to attract and retain talent, support employees’ success in their professional journeys, and access resources to make your business endeavors even more successful.
This series is called BUSINESS BLUEPRINT: Workforce Strategies in Maine's Evolving Economy. We'll explore a diverse range of topics that significantly impact employers in Maine, featuring subject matter experts who will share their valuable insights. Our goal is to give you key takeaways, opportunities, and resources that may be valuable to your organization.

The Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine's Workforce manages short-term training programs for Maine's community colleges. Launched in 2021, the Alfond Center will train 24,000 Mainers in four years through pre-hire training programs for underemployed individuals, professional development for frontline incumbent workers, and scholarships for students to continue their training in certificate and degree programs. These initiatives are possible through the generous support of the Harold Alfond Foundation, Maine Quality Centers, Ascendium, and the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan.
