This exciting collaboration between MaineHealth/NorDx & SMCC. Students will participate in 2 weeks of classroom learning.
Students that successfully complete the classroom training will be able to apply for a position with NorDx and will be guaranteed an interview. If hired, students will move directly into the clinical portion of the program.
Clinical assignments will be Monday-Friday at varying times. Assignments will be at a MaineHealth hospital site or a Patient Service Center.
This course in its entirety is designed to provide students with clinical knowledge and competencies to become a highly skilled phlebotomist.

Start on June 24 or July 15
Mondays: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Tuesdays: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Wednesdays: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Thursdays: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Fridays: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

The Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce coordinates all short-term workforce training programs for Maine’s community colleges, working closely with business and industry leaders statewide. Launched in 2021, the Alfond Center served over 26,000 Mainers in thirty months. A new, historic gift of $75.5 million from the Harold Alfond Foundation in June 2024 will enable the Center to train an additional 70,505 Mainers by 2030, significantly impacting Maine’s workforce and economy through strategic private and public partnerships.
