
Certified Nursing Assistant
With the Cedars portland
Southern Maine Community College and The Cedars have partnered to offer a Certified Nursing Assistant program. This course includes classroom instruction and clinical experience at The Cedars. Students may be eligible for job placement after completing the course.
Students need to have a CASAS level 5 or higher for the program.
SCHEDULE
This six week program begins July 7 and ends August 15.
Mondays: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Tuesdays: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Wednesdays: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Thursdays: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Fridays: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce coordinates all short-term workforce training programs for Maine’s community colleges, working closely with business and industry leaders statewide. Launched in 2021, the Alfond Center served over 26,000 Mainers in thirty months. A new, historic gift of $75.5 million from the Harold Alfond Foundation in June 2024 will enable the Center to train an additional 70,505 Mainers by 2030, significantly impacting Maine’s workforce and economy through strategic private and public partnerships.
